Death of Henry Taft. NELSON, June 4.---D. Henry Taft, died at his house in Tuscarora, N. Y., Tuesday morning, June 3, aged 53 years. He had been in failing health since last November, but the primary cause of his death was an injury received about seventeen years ago from which he never recovered and which developed into complication of diseases. Henry Taft has been well and favorably known in this section for the last twenty years. I have known him from childhood. I have seen him in adversity and in trouble. He was always generous, kind, and true, and I deem it only meet and fair to add in his behalf this charitable petition, which the great monarch of thought put into the King's mouth at the deathbed of Beaufort, "Peace to his soul if God's good pleasure be." Mr. Taft was married November 1st, 1878, to Miss Josephine Merritt, daughter of William Merritt, deceased, of Nelson, who survives him. Besides his parents, two sisters are living, Mrs. Horace Albee of Tuscarora, N. Y., and Mrs. J. T. Aldrich of Nelson. The funeral will be held from the home at 2 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon. Internment in the Nelson cemetery.
