a. Note:   Wellsboro Gazette of Wed., Feb 1, 1939, p6 has: WILLIAM B. MERRITT. William Blaine Merritt, aged 54 years, died Monday at his home at Nelson. He was born in Nelson, son of Charles and Ellen Merritt.and spent his entire life there. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara Eaton Merritt; four daughters, Mrs. Raymond Brown, of Lindley; Mrs. Robert Weeks, of Westfield; Mrs. Donald Avery and Mrs. Fred Hackett, of Nelson; four brothers, Harvey, Walter, Clifford and Gordon; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Beers and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church, burial in Nelson. * * * * From Wellsbor Agitator??? WILLIAM B. MERRITT NELSON, Pa. --- The death of William Blaine Merritt, aged 54, occured January 30 at his home here. Mr. Blaine [sic] was born in Nelson the son of the late Charles and Ellen Merritt and had spent his entire life here where he engaged in farming.
