Harris, pastor of the Mansfield Presbyterian church, officiating; burial in Prospect cemetery, Mansfield. Besides the widow, Mrs. Leda O. Shaw, he is survived by six sons, Nelson B.; Wilford W.; Lester; John H. Jr; Llewellyn B.; Edson R.; two daughters, Martha E. and Esther A.; one grandson, Bryce Robert Shaw; one brother, Llewellyn B. Shaw, all residents of Mansfield.. He also leave a sister, Mrs. Edna Shaw Warren ??, of Durant, Mich. Burial in Prospect Cemetery. <b>[Error- Tombstone is in Oakwood Cemetery] </b>SHAW,WILFORD W. <b>(SRGP 12768)</b> - Mansfield and vicinity was shocked and saddened Monday morning to learn the death of Wilford W. Shaw, for the past twenty yeas Mansfield’ funeral director. He had been stricken at a funeral a short time ago, but felt better in a few days and was out doors one day last week. He suffered a relapse and was taken to Blossburg Hospital, where he died Monday morning, April 2, 1945. He was born in Mansfield April 15, 1903, attended Mansfield schools, graduating from High School, and from M. S. T. C. .in 1924. He studied embalming in the Eckles School of Philidelphia [sic] and came back to Mansfield to assist his father, L.B. Shaw, in Furniture and undertaking business of that name. Upon the retirement of his father about ten years ago, Wilford took over the business. Later he disposed of the furniture business and established the Shaw Funeral Home in its present location. He was married June 17, 1925, to Miss Genevieve Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Cox, former residents of Mansfield. They had two children, Bryce R. and Jack W. Mr. Shaw was an ardent sportsman and participated in many other activities of the community. He was president of the Mansfield Business Men’s Association for the year 1943, a trustee of the Presbyterian Church, Past Master of Friendship Lodge F &AM, a member of Zebulon Chapter, Royal Arsh [sic], and past Noble Grand of the I. O. O. F. He was a member of Corey Creek Golf Club, Mansfield Rod and Gun Club, Tioga Undertakers Association and other organizations. Besides his wife and sons he is survived by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. L. B. Shaw, of Mansfield; brothers, Nelson B. Shaw of Kankakee, Ill.; Cpl. Lester Shaw, in the Pacific Area; 1st Lt L. B. Shaw, Germany; Capt John Shaw, stationed in Georgia after several years combat duty, and Edson Shaw, of Mansfield; also two sisters, Miss Martha Shaw of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Vicente Ferrer, Charleston, S.C. The funeral will be held this (Wednesday) evening at six-thirty a the Shaw Funeral Home, the Rev. M. E. Bartholomew officiating.
