a. Note:   Diane Michelle Thompson of Churchton, Md. Diane Michelle Thompson, 22, died Sunday, Feb 8, 1997 of injuries received in a car accident on Muddy Creek Road, near Mill Swamp Road in Harwood. She had resided with her family in Franklin Manor in Churchton since 1993. She was born in Susquehanna County, Pa., where she was a 1992 graduate of Blue Ridge High School, New Milford, Pa. In high school she sang in the chorus as well as in individual competition. She was also a member of the school's Honor Society and received an academic letter for scholastic achievement. After graduating high school, she briefly attended The State University of New York at Binghamton in Binghamton, N.Y., and in 1993 transferred to Anne Arundel Community College where she took an honors course in sociology and studied education. She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church where she sang in the Gospel Choir and Praise Band vacation Bible school. Since September she had worked as an orthodontist's assistant for Dr. Phillip A. Philbin in Annapolis. She was currently volunteering as an assistant basketball coach at the Shady Side Girls and Boys Club. She was an avid reader, and her other interests included downhill skiing music, singing, and playing with her younger siblings. Survivors include her father, Michael G. Thompson and Stepmother, Janice Long, Churchton, Md.; her mother, Lisa Anne Kendall and Stepfather, Nathan H. Raboy, fiance, Christopher D. Owens, Davidsonville; her paternal grandparents, Ellen and Henry Thompson, Great Bend, Pa.; her maternal grandparents, Michael and Patricia Kendall, and her maternal great-grandmother, Mary Belles, all of Pa.; her siblings, Christine Thompson and Rachel Raboy, both of Binghamton and Ryan Thompson, Kaitlin Thompson and Kelvin Thompson, all of Churchton, Md. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Lothian, Md.. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis, Md. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 122 Bayard Road, Lothian, Md. 20711, or to the Shady Side Girls and Boys Club, 6272 Shady Side Road, Shady Sidre. Md. 20764.
