Published: Jan 12, 2006 EST Elizabeth "Betty" (Wright) Griffin Elizabeth "Betty" (Wright) Griffin, 89, Ephrata, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Ephrata Community Hospital. She was born in Canandaigua, New York, a daughter of the late Lynn C. Wright and the late Edna Mae Ellison. She was married to the late Robert Griffin on January 20, 1957 and lived most of her life in McMurray, PA before establishing her life in Ephrata, PA in 2002. She owned and operated Milady's Beauty Studio in East Orange, NJ prior to moving to McMurray. She supported several Christian charity organizations, including the Crystal Cathedral with Rev. Robert Schuler, and the Rev. Billy Graham. She was a member of the John Birch Society. At Ephrata manor, she participated in volunteer pastoral work. Her family includes nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly missed by nieces, Shirley Stefura of Canisteo, NY, Mary Wright of West Caldwell, NJ, and Donna (Wright) Nagy of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; four nephews, Clifton Wright of Canisteo, NY, William Wright of DuBois, PA, Richard Wright of Chesapeake, VA, and Thomas Wright of Camden, DE; several grandnieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece, and a very, very special dear friend, Kathleen O'Neill of West Caldwell, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Lynn C. Wright, Donald Wright, and William Wright and two nieces, Susanne (Wright) Egloff, Caldwell, NJ and Vivienne Johnson, Boerne, TX. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata with Rev. Robert W. Muse officiating.
