February 19, 2000 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born July 4, 1915 in Elkland, PA to Hugh Campbell and Virginia Protzman Ellison. While in Rochester, Mrs. Cornell was a member of Eastside Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by 2 daughters, Virginia Cornell Smith and husband, Philip of Lewisville, NC and Linda Cornell Heaivilin and husband, Gale of Kailua, Hawaii; 6 grandchildren, Stephen Logan Smith and wife, Melissa of Colorado Springs, CO, Geoffrey Randolph Smith and wife, Chandy of Brooklyn, NY, Peyton Sumner Smith of Lewisville, NC, Megan Campbell Smith and husband, Wesley Shears of Lexington, KY, Aaron David Ekroth of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Hunter Scott Heaivilin of Kailua, HI; 1 great grandson, Cowen Glynn Shears of Lexington, KY; 1 sister, Thelma Ellison Huyett of Ormond Beach, FL. A Memorial Service will be conducted Wednesday at 1 1 :00 a m. at Home Moravian Church Chapel in Winston-Salem. A later Service will be held in Rochester prior to burial at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., Southern Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or the charity of the donor's choice.
