a. Note:   Brown's 1897 History of Tioga Co., Ch 60 - Farmington Twp. "OLIVER H. BLANCHARD, eldest child of Charles and Lovina Blanchard, was born in Lawrence township, Tioga county, March 4, 1822, and was reared to manhood on the old homestead. In 1850 he settled in Farmington township, and cut the first stick of timber on the farm he now occupies, and upon which he has lived for nearly half a century. Mr. Blanchard has been twice married. January 13, 1852, he married Emily J., daughter of Hopestill and Myra (Kirk) Blanchard, of Tioga county, who bore him five children, viz: Charles, deceased; Mary, wife of Dr. A. H. Forsythe; William P., Chester H. and Frank R. His second marriage occurred September 26, 1866, to Mary J. Mulford, a daughter of Benjamin S. and Rachel (Locke) Mulford, of Farmington, to which union have been born two children, Oliver B. and Charles R. Mr. Blanchard is a member of the Presbyterian church, and also of the I. O. O. F. In politics, a Republican, he was the first nominee of that party for the office of county treasurer of Tioga county, to which he was elected and served a full term of two years." * * * Beechers Island Presbyterian Church p.33-4 Tioga Cop. Pennsylvania Records, 1981 has: Oliver Hammond Blanchard son of Charles and Lovina Blanchard, first married his cousin, Emily Jane, daughter of Hopestill and Myra Kirk Blanchard, by whom he had children: Mary, who married Arthur H. Forsythe of Lake View, Mich., had two sons, Harry and Robert Forsythe: William, who died in North Dakota; Chester Hoyt Blanchard, who lived in th Blanchard Homestead, was the father of Oliver S. Blanchard of Farmington, who had a son Francis in the U.S. Army; and Francis B. Blanchard, a practising physician of Lake View, Mich. Oliver H. Blanchard married second, Mary Jane Mulford, by whom he had two children, Oliver Benjamin (present elder), and Charles Randolf. Oliver Benjamin Blanchard married Angie, daughter of Daniel P. and Percy (Butts) Close, and they have a son, Leo Close Blanchard, now in the U.S. Navy, and whose home is at Boiling Springs, Pa., where his wife, Martha C. and child, Cynthia Jane, reside. A daughter, Vera C. married Lucius R. Baker, and reside at Lawrenceville. Shirley married Miss Elya (sic) Owlett, and has one son, Barry, born.
