Notes
a. Note:   The 1900 Census lists him as a "Cooper".
Janie Tremont remembered that he spent a great deal of effort and money trying to locate his brother Lester, who had abandoned his wife and seven children around 1930. He even went so far to hire a private detective. Edward remained a bachelor. He was remembered as a "big" and generous man. Kate Spies recalled [May 4, 2002] that he was so fat, he got a new car every year because he would blow out the springs in the front seat. He would take her and her brother Jimmy for a ride each time he got a new car.
According to his death certificate, he died of pulmonary edema.
