Note: Applied for his social security card in Dec. 1936 at the age of 30. Residence then was 1010 Avery Ave., Syracuse. Obituary for William A. CAPELS, died May 20, 1985 William A. [Andrew] Capels, 79, of 1814 W. Genesee St., died Monday at Community-General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Capels was a native Syracusan. He was a communicant of St. Brigid and St. Joseph Church. He retired in 1970 from Crucible Specialty Metals Division of Colt Industries, where he was a laboratory technician 36 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary GRAHAM Capels; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Harold E. Hoare Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Brigid and St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. There are no calling hours. Bill liked Peggy's dogs, which were usually terriers. She noted that he once had a St. Bernard and later an apricot-colored poodle.
