 May 1, 1860: William Blair received government patents on 200 acres of purchased land in sections 5, 7, 8 & 17-T14N-R17W in Searcy County AR. Desmond Walls Allen and Bobbie Jones McClane, ARKANSAS LAND PATENTS: SEARCY COUNTY. (Data available online at the BLM GLO Records site.) The actual purchase of the land would likely have occurred several years earlier, as there was a time lag between buying the land and receiving the patent.

 William Blair enlisted in Comany K of the 14th Arkansas Confederate Infantry on August 5, 1861 at Yellville AR. He was wounded at the battle of Pea Ridge, March 7, 1862. He died in AR about January 18, 1863. Compiled Service Records, National Archives. [This microfilm is very hard to read. The date of death is somewhat uncertain.]
