Note: Jackson County Banner; January 5, 1998: Ruby L. Hall, 86, of Kurtz died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 1998, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker and attended Kurtz Nazarene Church. Born June 17, 1911, in Meade County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of William D. and Martha J. Ewers Murphy. On January 4, 1929, in Brownstown, she married Harry Hall, and he survives. Other survivors include a son, Jack Hall, Kurtz; three brother, Roy Murphy, Tyler, Texas, Ray Murphy, Seymour, and Robert Murphy, Brownstown; two sisters, Ruth Bedwell, Brownstown, and Jean Hadley, Columbus; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Schaffer; a grandchild, Jackie Hall; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hall; and two brother, Doyle Murphy and Ralph Murphy. The Rev. David Fisher will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, with burial in Kurtz Cemetery.
