  Jesse Edgar Jackson 83, died Sunday at 5 a.m. at his home, 406 Ford Street. The retired textile employee was born Dec. 1, 1881. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.. Estelle Cope Jackson; two sons, Hartsell Jackson of Gastonia and Ray Jackson of the home; four daughters, Mrs.. Bessie Kiser, Mrs. Lucy Kale, Mrs.. Ethel Miller and Mrs.. Mildred Gurley, all of Gastonia; two brothers, Joe and Fred Jackson of Cherryville; 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the East Fifth Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Ralph Propst and the Rev. Kenneth Rouse officiating. Internment will be in Armstrong Memorial Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. The body to be taken to the home today at 2:20 p.m., will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Sisk Funeral Home, Bessemer City; made the arrangements.
