  Mom remembers her grandmother as a sweetheart. She was a midwife for the town & stayed with the family for 10 days & received $2/day & did the washing for the family. All the people at her funeral were people she had brought into the world. She also did housework for rich families in the area for pay. She did beautiful sewing & made some extra money doing that for different people as well. She always wore a starched housedress with a starched white apron with a bib. I remember my gr-grandmother as a quiet and gentle soul.
