Bethel United Church Cemetery, near Harold, Ontario, tombstone reads: In memory of Mary Jane Hamm, wife of Jacob Kemp, born December 6, 1852, died August 11, 1890. I was told by Rev. Gerald Kemp that there was a footstone where she is buried which simply read "Willie" but I visited this graveyard & could not find any evidence of a footstone. Mary Jane's death register said she died of an infection & I think it was probably as a result of child birth. Perhaps Willie was the baby born. My father said that Jacob, Mary Jane's husband, is buried in this cemetery but there is no tombstone.
Ontario Death Registration- #006453- Jane Kemp, Aug. 1, 1890, 38 years, Farmer's wife, Born Rawdon Tp., died of Septicemia 10 day duration, informant Jacob Kemp of Harold, Methodist.
