  Clara May Worthen North Head Grand Manan
  The funeral service for Clara May Worthen, 82, widow of Earl Worthen, was held at the Church of the Ascension with the Rev. Joseph Atkinson officiating. Pallbearers were five grandsons Larry, Kevin, Douglas, Norris and Karl Worthen and nephew Dr. Van Worthen. Born at North Head, Grand Manan, September 6, 1906, she was a daughter of the late Lowell and Jessie (Beal) Brown. She was an active member of the Church of the Ascension, North Head where she had served on the Alter Guild and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge. She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Leighton of Moncton; three sisters, Ellen Harvey, Doris Moses, Faye Lucas; one brother, Herman Brown; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Gerald and Sidney, and three brothers, Floyd, Everett and Lowell Jr.
  The following is a copy of the Card of Thanks which appeared in the Moncton Times and Transcript Paper following the death of Clara May Brown. (Date of publication would have been late February or early March 1989.)
  WORTHEN - The family of the late Clara Worthen wish to thank friends and relatives who phoned, visited, sent cards and flowers, for prayers while she was a patient in Moncton City Hospital. Also a sincere thanks for food, flowers, charitable donations, visits and all other acts of kindness during our bereavement. Special thanks to Dr. Wright, Dr. Rubin and the staff of 5 Clarke for their excellent care and many acts of kindness. Thanks also to Ven. Tom Crowther, Rev. Matt Lanigan and Rev. Bill Forgrave for visits and prayers.
