Note: p comes from Carolyn E. Cooper. He was born on a farm on Chinquapin Road, "Town Relief", land which belonged to the Wroth family for generations. Philip Reed Rasin was named after Col. Philip Reed, a friend of William B. Rasin.
CENSUS: 1830 Kent Co Philip Rasin Middle District.
DEATH: Date of death given in widow's bounty land warrant application.
OBIT: Need to find copy. Kent Co News Dec 18 1841 issue had mention of the auction of the estate of Philip.
TOMBSTONE: He is probably buried in Union Cemetery near his wife but no stone was found.
ESTATE: Sarah Rasin, admin of Philip Rasin gives inventory p. 161 Dec 7 1841. Kent Co News Dec 28 1841 issue notice of auction of estate of Philip Rasin, deceased by Sarah Rasin admin. sale Thur 30th July at the residence of the late Philip Rasin in Worton. In the minutes of Orphans Court Bk #4 p. 159 Nov 30 1841 letters granted on personal estate of Philip Rasin to Sarah Rasin and that William J. Skirven and Thomas Hynson appraise the same. On Dec. 7, 1841 Sarah Rasin presented the personal estate of Philip Rasin and it was ordered to sell the same and was to advertise same.
SOLDIER: War of 1812 6th Brigade Kent Co Apr 1813-Sept 1813 Philip and Cyrus Rasin private served Apr 19-May 11 1813 and Aug 12-Aug 25 1813 33rd Regiment under Capt. Matthew Tilghman. Kent Co Jul 11-Jul 13 1814 Philip Rasin, Cyrus Rasin, privates. Aug 20 -Sep 6, 1814 Philip Rasin 4th Corp, Cyrus Rasin privates. They were all in the battle at Caulk's field Aug 27 1814.
NEWSPAPER: Republican Star issue of Oct 4 1814 "list of men who were in the action at Caulk's Field on the night of the 13th of August last under Col. Reed... Philip Rasin in Capt. Aquilla Usilton's Artillery Co. and Siras Rasin"

Cooper. state Philip Rasin married Sallie Bennett and had Wilhelmina married John William Crouch, Sarah married John Apsley, Mary Ann married Squire James A. Graves, Martha died not married, Ann Elizabeth married William J. Elliott, Richard married Elizabeth Jones, Samuel died when small, hung himself while playing, William married Elizabeth Crouch, sister of John William Crouch.
