Elizabeth Carter widow and relict of Richard Carter, deceased granted to her brother Thomas Rasin of Kent Co MD power of attorney to recover debts to her of the estate of her deceased husband. Talbot Co Bk 12 p. 371 on Feb. 22, 1715. On Nov. 28, 1723 Mrs. Elizabeth Carter, formerly of MD but now of the Parish of St. Andrews Holdborne in County Middlesex, widow confirmed to William Lampson of London, Gentleman power of attorney. Shortly to proceed to Maryland to take from and turn out Mr. Thomas Raizin of Maryland, merchant, her brother, from the possession of her plantation in or near Miles River and by due course of law recover from him all increase of all Negroes, cattle, effects and tobacco as belongs to the plantation, not to turn out Elizabeth Carter's overseer without her consent.
