Note: ted for insufficient proof of service during the War period) states he had brother John Arthur of Bedford Co. He may have had other brothers who lived around the same time period in the same area such as Ambrose, Hargrove and Thomas who went to Georgia and Barnabus who stayed in Bedford.
Benjamin Arthur is said to be nephew of the son William as well but Benjamin's father is not William or John so there must be a least three sons to this man's family.
The son John is said to have been born Ireland which means his father was likely born in Ireland too. It is unknown if this man came to America but if he did and his estate can be found it might be able to tie some of the other Arthur families to this family. More research on the early Arthurs to the Americas is needed. There was an early attempt by the Arthur Family Newsletter to compile Arthur information but it is a lot of records without much connection and sorting and analyzing. Until that is done these distinct families have a lot of supposed connections without proof of connection. Another line of the family is supposedly connected to the President Arthur whose line can be proven to Gavin Arthur born ca 1735 in Ireland. If the families are related I have not found that connection and it may be earlier back in Ireland.
