John bought land in Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties. Some say he died Aug 2 1710 which is the probate date of his great uncle John Norris.
DEED: In 1691 "in the 3rd year of the reign of King William and Mary" he purchase from Benj. Hooker "for 5500 pounds tobacco, landnamed 'Hooker's Addition' lying in a swamp called Hering Creek".
DEED: In Baltimore Co. in 1716 he bought 243 acres, called "Prospect" from PeterBond for 30 lbs. sterling money; and in 1718, 365 acres from ThomasPreston called "Everly Hills", for 50 lbs. sterling.
DEED: In 1726, he patented from Benj. Leon Calvert, "Norris Addition", 32 acresin Hering Creek swamp; this was willed to his grandson, Thomas Norris. In 1726, he purchased from William Parish, 150 acres, called "Spring Garden" lying on Patapsco in Baltimore Co. for 30 lbs. sterling.
In Apr. 1715, "a petition of John Norris setting forth that he is fined 500 pounds tobacco for not attending as ajuror at the court held November last, for said county; that during the sitting of said court, the petitioner's wife lay very sick and died; that he did not neglect his duty out of any contempt, but was purely induced by his affecion and care of his wife. The truth of said petition being certified by two of the Commissioners of the aforesaid county court is thought reasonable and was granted, wherefore said fine be remitted and not levied". (Md. Archives).
WILL: John Norris made his will Nov. 1, 1737 which was probated Dec. 6, 1740. After leaving his eldest grandson, Thomas, "Norris Addition", he leaves all his land in Anne Arundel Co. "to son John and his son, John; to dau. Mary Medcalf, "SpringGarden" in Baltimore Co.; to son Thomas, the remainder of "Everly Hills,except that portion deeded to son, Benjamin; to son Joseph, the remainderof "Prospect", except that part of "Prospect" deeded to son Edward; to wife Mary, an interest in lands during her life or widowhood, she to besole executor and Administrator.

He married (2) 3 Apr 1716 Mary Newman. He dated his will 1 Nov 1737 and died about Nov 1740 and this will was admitted to probate 6 Dec 1740.
