Note: James Murray changed his name from De Moray. The De Morays or Murrays of Tullebardine, are one of the most powerful of Highland families of Scotland and it is from this family that James Morray or Murray of Baltimore County in 1704 descended. His will on file in Baltimore City appears to be the only one bearing the wax impression of a coat of arms which is "azure three stars argent, in middle chief a crescent or." Found in "Colonial Families of the United States," pages 478, 479, 480, and 481. His home place in Baltimore County near Reistertown, was called "Duck Cove." He married Jemima Morgan, granddaughter of Captain Henry Morgan, (The Pirate), who died in Baltimore County in 1698. "The Compendium of American Genealogy." Vol. V, page 73. James De Moray, (James Murray), arrived from Scotland, 1676, settled in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, married Jemima, daughter of Colonel Thomas Morgan. Ruth, born 1710, married 1746 Josephus Murray (1689-1772), Place dates from Http:ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/strawn/murrayfa.htm.
