Memphis Reville 28 Feb. 1907 p.2-col.1 Margaret McCallister Wilson, the subject of this sketch, was born in Putnam County, West Virginia October 19, 1816. She was married to John Wilson November 5, 1835. Hers has been an eventful life, her husband having made the trip to Scotland County, Mo. to pick out a home for the family, was lost on the return trip and all search for him was in vain. It is thought that he perished. Fifty-two years ago she came with her children to the home her husband had purchased for her, ten miles north of Memphis, where she has lived with her children since. Forty years ago she joined The Bethel C.P. Church and was ever a faithful member, peacefully falling asleep in Jesus on Feb. 21, 1907. The funeral was conducted in the Bethel Church by the Rev. J.J. Bostick and the remains were laid in the cemetery nearby. She lived to be a good old age being over 90 years old. All her children, but three, preceded her to their long home. The surviving ones are Mrs. Roberts, of Memphis, Frank Wilson, of Milton, Iowa, and Mordica Wilson who remained with his mother in the old home.
Note: Margaret owned 40 acres on Section 29 in Twp 67 Range 11 Scotland Co, valuation by State by $
