  MARRIAGE: Weissenhassel Church Records; May 3, 1807, Georg Linhose discharged soldier legitimate son of the shepherd Joh. Georg Linhose in Lindenau to Elisabeth Landgrebe, all were present, who is the legitimate daughter of the shoemaker Heinrich Landgrebe.
  DEATH: Weissenhassel Church Records; George Linhos, day laborer, died on the 1st day of March at 8am in the morning was 49y, 8m and 22d. (1829).
  SOLDIER: His marriage record said he was a soldier. Many of the German youth were required to serve in the military and the family history said this is one of the reasons that the family moved to America (to avoid conscription).
  NOTE: A map of the town Weissenhassel sent by Mr. Herbert Wenk shows the house and barn that the Linhosses lived in before they emigrated. It was owned by the Schmidts then the Linhosses. When they moved to America they sold it to the neighbors Schmauchs. The Schmauchs sold it to the Siegels and a Hans Siegel owns it to this day (1994). It is on the corner of Oberdorf and Raingasse Roads.
