John was supposed to have been her cousin, and he joined the revolutionary war effort at age 15 from Frederick County MD, but was born in NJ, according to his pension papers. I haven't been able to figure out which of Gilberts son's was John's father, but I think it was probably Cornelius. Cornelius was born in NJ, and I have found him here & there in the records -- lately I found that he was in NJ after the family went to MD, so it is another reason for me to believe that he was John's father. (Plus John & Mary named two of their children Cornelius & Rebecca, and Rebecca was the name of Cornelius' wife in NJ church records; the other children were John, William and my ancestor, Mary)"
Email from Robert Fry (Robert.Fry@mciworld.com) says William's birth date was 1731 and death date 1790. I will use these dates as Robert seems to have good information. According to Fry, William stayed in Frederick Co., MD and was buried in the Reformed Church Cemetery there.
