I do have one more story that illustrates the extent and depth of the connection between the Hensley and Adams families. This is the only story that my mother seemed to enjoy telling. When my grandmother Barbara was born to Angeline and Isaac, Jepthah and his family went over to see the new baby. Twelve-year-old Winfield even held the tiny infant in his arms--the infant who would become his wife 16 years later, and bear his children.
