CENTRAL CITY - Marjorie Ann (Hensel) Curry, 89, a six-year resident of Central City, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at the Grand Island Veterans Home. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Central City United Methodist Church. Mrs. Curry was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Lee Lewis Hensel and Harriet (Hattie) Block. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband of 65 years, Henry Fred Curry; three sons and daughters-in-law, Fred Lee and Kay of San Francisco, Steven Marshall and Beverly of Central City and Clifford Richard and Sue of Iowa City, Iowa; and a daughter-in-law, Kathryn (Dave) Nickerson. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Adam (Laura) Curry, Mary (Dan Sheetz) Curry, Sarah Curry and Paul Curry, and a great-granddaughter, Beatrice Sheetz. Marjorie was a registered nurse who served in the Army in World War II and worked for many years as a school nurse in Wichita, Kan. She was awarded a bachelor's degree in sociology from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan. Her husband is a resident of the Grand Island Veterans Home.
