Note: C.F. McMaster recalls a story his dad told him about Jerome: When the family would have gathering at the farm, the young nephews of Jerome's would take the wheels off his horse buggy and exchange the front to the back. The front buggy wheels were smaller than the back. Once they even put his buggy on top of the carriage house. Jerome would get so mad, he would take off after the boys with the buggy whip. As told to Kathi McMaster/Martens, 2001
