a. Note:   Can not find documentation for birthplace. Children say she was born in Michigan. Michigan has no records. Her parents marriage certificate was sent back to the State of Michigan, and no record of their marriage was found in Chicago. These events may have taken place in Canada.

  A reunion with their 11 children in 1955 marked the 40th wedding anniversary of the McMasters. The 36 grandchildren then, and great grandchildren, will probably have increased by the next reunion in 1965, said Mrs. Virginia McMaster, the matriarchal head, of Downers Grove, Illinois.
  Mrs. McMaster is described by her hostess of the past few days, Mrs. C. H. Lanctot, 502 S. Garth Ave., as "an ideal full-fledged American, who with her husband worked consistantly as a great team with a family which did things together. Energetic, ambitious, happy, she has reared 11 of 12 children born to her, and they are all wholesome American citizens". She has 47 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
  Mrs. McMaster was leaving this morning driving her own car, trim and conposed at 63 years of age in blue cotton pedalpushers and a print top. Her gray hair in smart coiffure, at 130 pounds she looked the past of a business woman. She formerly dealt in baskets and imported gift items in a shop which deplayed its wares via the home party plan. Now she has sold her business and home and has a seperate apartment in the home of a son.
  Mr. McMaster had 38 years service with the New York Central and Rock Island railroads as a baggage supervisor.
  A widow three years, Mrs. McMaster is having the older-generation pleasure of "children all over the place,I never lack for a place to go, just go when I want to." There is a son on the
