Note: A tribute in the pages of THE IDAHO DAILY STATESMAN, BOISE, IDAHO Evan E. Dillon December 13, 1979 Wilder -- Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. last Friday in Caldwell for Evan E. Dillon, 87, who died Dec. 11 at a Caldwell nursing home. Rev. Mike Goode of the Nazarene Church, Ridgefield, Wash., grandson-in-law, and Rev. Karl Remick ofGreenlead, retired minister, officiated. Beverly Jackson of Glenns Ferry was organist and accompanist. Vocal duet, "Zion's Hill" was sung by Darrell and Regina Louden, Greenleaf, Grandchildren. Vocal duets, "The Last Mile of the Way" and "What a Day That Will Be" were sung by Mike and Beverly Jackson of Glenns Ferry. Pallbearers were grandsons, David and Melvin Watson, C. Evan and Kenneth Dillon, Ben Jackling and Harry Strang. He was born Aug 30, 1892, to Edward E. and Stella Taylor Dillon at Napaer, Neb. He was reared and educated Nebraska. He married Lavina DeWitt on July 19, 1911, in Nebraska, where they farmed until moving to Oregon. He moved to Homedale in 1922 and continued farming until his wife's death on July 17, 1941. At this time he entered construction for the United States Government during World War II and continued in the building profession until his retirement. He married Menilla Slate on June 13, 1945 and they lived most of the their married years in the Wilder area. He held a license as minister in the Nazarene and Free Methodist churches for several years. He was a member of the Wilder Free Methodist Church. He is survived by a son, Ed Dillon of Wilder; three daughters, Jane Strang of Phoenix Ariz., Pearl Jackling of Wesier and Veva Watson of Anderson Calif.; a stepson, Bob Slate of Portland, Ore.; a stepdaughter Louise Simpson of Caldwell; 18 grandchildren; a great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters, six brother, three sons, a grandson, two granddaughters and four great-grandsons. Memorials may be given to the Boise Rescue Mission, P.O.
