Plude from Lewiston, Me, marriage date February 17, 1909 (but I don't know where) to Reid or Reed Leslie-A., also from Lewiston, Me. John Plourde and Anglina Doucet had a son David-Henri deceased in August 26, 1914, at the age of 3 months, Funeral services at S.Peter/S.Paul church, burial in S.Peter Cemetery. I'm not sure how much you care about the Plude side of the family, but the original spelling of the name is Plourde. The line is descended from a French settler of Quebec named Rene Plourde who settled there in the late 1500's. Many Plourdes came to New England in the 19th century, working in the logging industry. David b. Plude's father, Henry S. Plude, lived much of his life and died in Orono, Maine. He was a cousin (I think) to my own 2nd great-grandfather. It's not clear from the above how Louse Dorr came to Lewiston Maine from NYC, but if you expand your research up there you should make a note of the alternate name spellings for Dorr identified above. I hope this helps w/ your research. Let me know if you have any questions! John Plude |
