a. Note:   Writeup with Trial Chart of the Descendants of Francis Poythress PreparedApril 1977 by R. Bol ling Batte found in Virginia State Library, ArchivesDivision Accession Number 29493 transcrib ed by J.M.Poythress:
211 3 Elizabeth Poythress m. 1775 in Middlesex Co. Simon Fraser, a recent immigrant from Scotlandto Petersburg where h e was engaged as a merchant. It is conjectured thatthe marriage took place in Middlesex Count y because she had been at thattime living with her aunt Elizabeth Poythress 215 , then the wi fe ofJames Mills of that county. James Mills and her brothers Joshua andWilliam were suretie s on the bond. After their marriage the couplesettled in Petersburg. Simon Fraser died ther e 28 Oct 1792 and was buriedin Blandford. Elizabeth was still living in 1795 when she was nam ed inthe will of the same aunt who, by that time, was the wife of ThomasGriffin Peachy. It i s likely that Elizabeth was buried in Blandford butthere is no record to establish that fact . The earliest record ofBlandford interments now available begin in 1842.
