KY to Owen Co. KY. ( tax records) 1828 Last year Elkanah was listed in the Owen Co. KY tax records 1830 In the IN Census records ( Hendricks Co. IN. pg 118) 1840 Elkanah in Hendricks Co. IN. (pg 392) Census record, also brother James. 1850 Census record Madison Co. AR pg #553 Followed Susannah's parents to MO then settled in Arkansas. 1857 Bought Public land in Benton Co. AR; cert. #397 1860 Census record Benton Co. AR pg 161 War Eagle, Walnut Twp. 1862/4 Fled Arkansas in the middle of the night because they didn't believe in the war; they lived near Pea Ridge. Went into MO, into KS where brother Isaiah stayed. Elkanah and wife was with them. 1866 Was back in Cassville , Barry Co. MO. The twins were born there. There was a Paslay school built and still operating until 1953. Thomas became a Preacher before going west. He probably used his school house for his meetings. 1870 Census record Flatcreek Twp, Barry Co. MO pg #14; brother John was also there in house #103 1877 Started for Oregon; stayed the winter in Kansas, probably with brother Isaiah. According to Ruble history Thomas' mother was with them. She probably stayed with Isaiah in KS. 1878 Arrived in Boise, ID. Stayed the winter there. 1879 Went on to Whitman Co. WA. 1880 Thomas Jackson not recorded in Census, he probably moved around in Oregon trying to start a church; visiting the Ruble family. 1886 Morgan, Thomas' son, gave him his timber rights in Douglas Co. WA. He built the first boarding house; this was up Central Ferry Canyon called Dyer Hill. He hauled lumber from Ellensburg, WA. 1888 Daughter Susan Dora was killed when a wagon turned over near Vantage, WA. Story goes that it had lumber on it and she was crushed. Her brother was driving. 1889 Thomas Jackson became sick and requested to be buried under a Pine tree on a knoll on his property. This was called Pleasant Hill Cemetery. This then became the cemetery for the community; Samuel Packwood finally bought the farm; The cemetery is now known as the PACKWOOD MEMORIAL CEMETERY.
