a. Note:   ! Copy of his death certificate from Greene County Health Department Bloomfield IN. He enlisted Aug. 29, 1862 in COMPANY A, NINETY-SEVENTH INDIANA VOLUNTEERS, at Solsberry, Ind., and was transferred to the U. V. R. C. department March 15, 1864. He served two years and eleven months, and during this time he carried a base drum, though never made a detailed musician. He was a faithful soldier of the union and received an honorable discharge at the close of the war. William YERIAN professed faith in Christ in the year 1875, and the same year joined the M. E. church at Pleasantville, Sullivan County, and when he moved to this county transferred his membership to Newark, but never transferred his membership to Bloomfield. In his last sickness he felt and said that it was the Lord’s will that he should never get well and spent much of his time in praying, committing himself and family into God’s hands and gave evidence of his triumphing grace. He died Jan. 7, 1898, at the age of sixty-two years, seven months and four days. His funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church by Revs. H. N. KING and I. N.YOKLEY, pastors of the M.E. and C. P. church, and was buried in the honor of war by the G. A. R. and Sons of Veterans. Note: Corp. Co A 97th Ind Inf
