Note: Lilliam Ioma Rushing Curtis, 7 Dec 1931 to 16 Nov 1999, dau of George Franklin Rushing and Jennette Woodruff, sister of Ioma name from teacher Ioma Trantham, Lillian name from Lillian Galliger.
Aunt Omie:
The nursing home she had been in for 2 weeks called me at 12:45 pm 15 Nov 1999, they said Aunt Omie had collapsed, was not breathing on her own and was now in route to the hospital. Upon arriving I instructed them to let nature take it's corse, I had Aunt Omie's power of attorney. She passed away at 1:30 am. The grave side funeral will be tomorrow 18 Nov 1999, 3:00 pm at the Jordan Cem. she will be buried beside her husband Joseph Curtis, also in the same cem. are Joseph Stanley Gentry(my brother), his wife Sharron, Rufus Wesley Smith (my Grandfather), and Norma Gail Miller (my beloved mother). Other then the last 2 weeks Aunt Omie had lived with us the last 4 years. We loved her dearly and will miss her lots. She was a stinker sometime, so stubborn, like a mule but her sweet smile and child like nature was a breath of fresh air.
