He was one who did the most body building. He wanted to be like his Daddy, it was said of Big George Rushing when there was competition, he would always win. William's mussels were so hard you couldn't mash them.
He was the one who learned to drive the first TRUCK that was bought. He put a bed on the back, he would pick up people on Sunday to church. He went to singing school, he and Elam were always called on to lead the Choir. They would sit around the bed of the truck and sing. William picked the Banjo, Elam the Violin.
Worked farm with his Daddy. William was in love with Willie May Ricks, she and her sister worked at a factory. Ola Mae Stutts, she worked on the farm with her step mother and took care of her Daddy, she was a little heavy. Big George Rushing wanted William to marry Ola Mae Stutts because she was big and strong and able to help on the farm.
William didn't tell Willie Mae he was married, on the 4th of July Willie Mae came to see William, when she found out he was married she cried and cried.
