When looking at grantee or grantor (deed) indexes, give special notice to "et
al" entries (e.g., "John Doe, et al"). Such deeds often occur when one sibling
buys out the others or when all siblings sell their inheritance. These
special-case deeds are also a good reason to be aware of the names of all of a
couple's children and the names of the spouse(s), not just your ancestor. Keep
in mind that these deeds can be found under the name of one of the sons or one of the sons-in-law.
