MICKLEWOOD who was ordered to lay a line to HAUSSY and to proceed on duty as liaison officer there, with 9th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment, He helped to lay the line there under very severe shelling by gas and HE shells throughout the night, and continually proceeded alone to repair the line under the severest shelling by all calibres in the village of HAUSSY. The German shellfire was of the heaviest description. Sapper HUCKER displayed the very greatest gallantry.
