"grandmother...betsey (mitchell) boyd) occasionally wanted us to comeover and live with her (in "the house" built by t. y. boyd...the onemy grandparents, ed and libby clark, lived in when my parents and ivisited them in the 30's)..
"we would come and live in the big house for four or five months. thengrandmother would say she wanted to be alone again, and we would allgo back to the "yellow house"...
"when i was not living there, i often spent nights with grandmother.although i don't remember her being afraid of anything, she neverslept alone. most of the time uncle tom (thomas young boyd jr.) livedthere and slept upstairs...
"mother had all her babies in grandmother's house (after caroline'sbirth in morris, pa)...boyd, russell and anita. there were also twobabies who died in infancy, one 10 days old and one 9 months old..."
