a. Note:   Covington Leader week of March 17, 2004 Charles William Presley Jr. of Stanton died at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. Mr. Presley, 59, was a wood shop foreman for the Delfield Company. He was a Master Mason and member of Dunham Lodge No. 150 and Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He was the lead singer for the Laymen Quartet for 33 years and served in the Air Force Reserve. Services were March 16 at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home chapel with Rev. John Campbell and Rev. Grover Westover officiating. Burial was in Brownsville Memorial Garden Survivors include his spouse, Carol Presley; a son, Neal Presley of Cordova; a stepson, Michael Short of Stanton; a daughter, Stephanie Presley of Covington, two step-daughters, Susan Short and Amy Short of Stanton; his mother, Fay Presley of Brownsville; two brothers, Lt. Col. Barry Presley of Harvest, Ala., and Danny Presley of Brownsville; two sisters, Wanda Presley and Judy Westover of Brownsville; a grandson, Blaine Presley. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Presley Sr. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
