BIOGRAPHY: Provided Courtesy of Theresa Mann Elliott Jan 2002 neice velva clark middle name is a I lived on the farm up between Cherryvale and Liberty Kansas until the summer I turned 15 (1959) then we moved to Barnsdall Oklahoma as dad has a job there with City Service pump station. Wilbur has graduated that year and went to K State. I got my first bedroom by myself. Boy was I thrilled. My own room. I had been sleeping with Grandma Kirkpatrick up til then. I forgot when whe moved in. Sometime just after Grandad Kirkpatrick died. I Granduted from Barnsdall in 1962 and went to college at Tonkawah, OK> Northern Okla. JR. College. In 1963 I came home and found a job in Tulsa where I lived with Judy jSimmons and Ilah Johnson in an apartment. Met you dad shortly after I moved there. Married in 1964 just after I turned 20 and he was 25. Nov. 20 as I wanted to be married on the 21 and we chang it to Friday because Saturday was the sabbath in the Catholic Church so we could not be married on the Sabbath. (HUM maybe that was a warning, you think?) Anyway we lived in Tulsa for 6 months in a basement apartment then bought 10 acres where you and John were born. Moved to Broken arrow in 1973 I think anyway I was pregnate with James when we moved. Stayed the for 4 years and moved back to Tulsa West side one mile from our first place. James turned 3 just after we moved. Stayed there until after divorce. Will have to think when I moved to Kellyville. I know it was t summer I lost my job at J & H and after Grandad died. Will continue th later as I have to call John and try to remember when I moved to Kellyville and then Nevada. I guess I have always been a wonderer. HAHA Love, MOM> Hi, Here is a story you will have to check with Carolyn. Either Richard or Lloyd were sent to feed the chickens. One hen had chicks and they didn put down feed or water where the chicks could get to it. When Allen ask why not they said " I thought they could nurse like the calves and pigs do". This boy had lived onthe farm all his life. DAAH!! Also a story about your grandad I am sure you have heard told. Once when grandma and grandad were dating her brothers did something to grandad so he was going to get even. The next time he was leaving he tied their boot strings together ( they alwqays left their boots at the outside door) a threw then up into a tall elm tree so they would have to get them do the morning. However, he didn't know he had accidentally thrown Grandad Kirkpatrick's up in the tree too. What a laugh.Of course you remember t horse thing. Mom and dad were dating on horseback. mom was on the back. Dad kicked the horse and it threw mom on her butt in the dirt. Not long (a month maybe) later they were passing the exact same spot but dad was on the back and mom kicked the horse so it threw him on his butt in the dir just laughed and said I wondered when you were going to get even with me now I don't have to watch out. When they went to a dance dad had asked mom and another girl both to the dance thinking he could keep them apart and keep it a secret. Mom found out and told dad he had to pick--her or the other girl but he wasn't taking both of them home. He picked mom. A story on Wilbur and me. I was about 5 and wilbur probably 8 and it w spring bairly (cold). Grandad was talking to a neighbor about cattle or semething. Anyway we asked him if we could go swimming. He of course sa Yah Yah OK. He was in the middle of a conversation after all. We went swiming with our clothes on in a drainage ditch which had cow manura and pee etc in it and it was clay dirt also. We got cold so we went to the house to get warm. Mom hit the ceiling and wrapped us up in a blanket a sat us on newspaper to wait for dad who had given us permission. I was almost blue. Dad came in and she lit into him with both feet and made h bath us both. He remembered saying yes but he never said it again witho knowing just what we had asked. HAHA Believe it or not we never even had the sniffles from that little adventure. Hot here it would feel good to have that ditch right now. HAHA Have 2 houses tomorrow and Friday maybe 3 then off to Susan's. I'll write more when I think of them. Ask Carolyn why they ate dirt when they were kids. I remember playing in their drive and they would d spoon of dirt and eat it. jThey were not sick very often maybe that was why. Love MOM
