GILLESPIE DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE Mrs. Augusta Gillespie, 68, 1306 Olive, a resident of Cowley County all her life, died today at 12:30am at Newton Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted at 5:40pm Sunday Born December 22, 1895 in Cowley County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brittian Smith. She was married to John Gillespie in 1932 in Winfield and he died in 1940. She was a licensed practical nurse and had worked until recently. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Survivors are a son, John of El Dorado, 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Rowe and Mr Vesta Yianakopolous of Winfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. Final rites will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30pm at Swisher-Taylor Chapel with the Rev. Easterling officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
