a. Note:   JOHN V. KINNEY John V. Kinney was born September 07, 1871 at Georgetown, Indiana and departed this life on May 08, 1949 at the age of 77 years, 08 months and 01 day. He was united in marriage to Ica Mae Jerome in the spring of 1891 at Logansport, Indiana. To this union four children were born. Two passed away in infancy. Mr. Kinney was preceded in death by his wife at Wichita, Kansas in 1907. In 1910 he married Miss Mae Smith of Winfield, (Cowley County), Kansas. To this union one son was born. He leaves to mourn his passing, J. Charles Kinney of Moline, Illinois, and Floyd H. Kinney of Carson, (Pottawattamie County, Iowa) seven granddaughters, one grandson, two nieces in Indiana, one niece in Illinois, and one of Dadson, Mississippi. Also surviving is an only great-grandson who lives in California. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 10, at 2:00pm in the McKee Funeral Home with Rev. Anderson conducting the service. Out-of-town people attending the funeral were Charles Kinney of Moline, Illinois, and Mrs. Archy Carnes of Agency (Wapelo County, Iowa). JOHN KINNEY DIED AT COUNCIL BLUFFS John V. Kinney died at Council Bluffs Hospital, (Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa) after a two-week illness. He was the father of Floyd Kinney of Carson (Pottawattamie County, Iowa) and J. Charles Kinney of Moline (Henry County), Illinois. Other survivors are eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Service was held at the McKee Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Anderson of Macedonia (Pottawattamie County, Iowa) in charge. Burial was in the Carson Cemetery. He was also a motorman on the Ran. street cars in Nashville, Tennessee around 1900.
