a. Note:   Walter C. Morris, 83, of Hornbeak died Jan. 19, 2000, at BaptistMemorial Hospital - Union City. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Antioch Cemetery nearHornbeak, with the Rev. Ernest Mayo officiating. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be no visitation. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements. He was born Jan. 19, 1917, in Greenburg, Ind., son of the late Williamand Nellie (Brotherton) Morris. He was a member of Hornbeak BaptistChurch and was former owner and operator of K Tool & Die in UnionCity. He had also worked as a tool and Die maker at the Milan Arsenaland at GTE-Sylvania in Dryersburg, where he retired. He was an avid golfer and a 32nd degree Mason of Union City Lodge No.538, Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors include his wife, Ruby (Hayes) Morris; a daughter, ElizabethChurch of Titusville, Fla.; a sister Dorothy Riddle of Columbus, Ind.;two grandchildren, Kevin John Church of Boston and Jack Church ofBakersfield, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah NicholeChurch and Eric Anthony Church, both of Bakersfield. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. He was employed as a Tool & Dye Maker in Union City, TN.
