Notes
a. Note:   uesday. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at F. M. Compton's Chapel, Rev Joseph I. Patterson, pastor of the Methodist Church at Hillsboro, Texas officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Surviving are her husband S. G. Dooley; a son, Dennis Dooley of Waco; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Moore and Mrs. M. H. Bird of San Antonio. Mrs. Dooley was born at Winchester in Fayette County, Texas on August 10, 1888, and was reared in Smithville, Texas. Before she was married she was Miss Katherine Louise Schober and was married to Mr. Dooley September 25, 1912. Mr. and Mrs. Dooley and Dennis resided in Hillsboro for about five years on Nowlin Avenue, leaving here for Waco where they have since resided. Mr. Dooley has been with the Cotton Belt Railway for years and is now express messenger on the Cotton Belt out of Waco. Mrs. Dooley was a devout Christian and at the time of her death was a member of the First Methodist Church of this city. Friends from Hillsboro attending the funeral were: Mrs. Willie Bryant and two sons Jamie and Morris, Mrs. Ney Maxwell and son, John Bob, Mrs. Gilbert Marshall and Rev Patterson. The following “tribute to my friend and former neighbor,” written by Mrs. Willie Bryant was used by Rev Patterson in his service. “Mrs. Dooley was always as dainty as a lily and as gentle and genteel as one could conceive. Like a falling autumn leaf, slowly fluttering to the ground, her life for nearly three weeks had been slowly slipping away. Her lovely face and body which for 47 years enshrouded her exquisite spirit could not continue to function longer. Her spirit was too fine to live on earth, but continues to live in heaven. Words are not adequate for hastily expressing the virtues of this dear friend and neighbor.” Mrs. Dooley had been a resident of Waco three years, living at 812 James Street. Pallbearers will be H. T. Torrance, W. B. Harris, C. I. Pickens, Dean Miles, H. Vorhees, and Clyde Gibson.
