Notes
a. Note:   d to have owned Wyke House in Wyke Regis. He was killed in the Peninsular in 1811 after service in Nova Scotia and Egypt. He married Anne Warrington, the daughter of the Rev George Warrington, vicar of Wrexham, in 1805 and their daughter Emma, born in Nova Scotia in 1810, inherited the house and married her cousin, Captain William Henry Warrington. They had eight children, most of whom lived in the area apart from two sons who emigrated to Australia and New Zealand. The 1871 census for Wyke Regis has Emma living at ?The Cottage? with her two youngest daughters Rose and Isabel, and her eldest daughter Charlotte Mary, married to Frederick Austin son of a family of Gloucstershire mill owners, and living at ?New Hill Cottage? with their daughter Florence Rose Gertrude. By 1891 Frederick, Charlotte and Florence are in Leigh House, Canford Bottom, Ferndown, Hampreston, where he died the same year. I also have a letter dated 1930 from a Violet Bragge who lived in a house called Vancourtland, Wyke Regis. Was she a friend or a relation?
