Note: 1807 - Abner Sr in Dearborn Co IN which was still part of Dearborn Co at that time. 1820 - Abner Sr in Posey, Franklin, IN which was taken from Dearborn and Clark Co 1830 - Abner Sr in Jackson, ShelbyFranklin County was made effective February 1, 1811. Franklin County was the sixth county formed and was taken from Dearborn and Clark Counties in conformity with the legislative act of November 27, 1810. The additional organization of Fayette and Union counties in 1819 and 1821 greatly reduced the area of Franklin County 1807 - Abner Sr in Dearborn Co IN which was still part of Dearborn Co at that time. 1820 - Abner Sr in Posey, Franklin, IN which was taken from Dearborn and Clark Co ------------ Shelby County was organized April 1, 1822. Shelby County was formerly a part of Delaware County and was occupied by the Miami Indianas, though was vacated by them before the organization of the county. 1830 - Abner Sr in Jackson, Shelby -------------------------------------------- The land they occupied was in the Gooney Run area. (Gooney Run was a creek) It was in a lush valley, between mountains. I have a picture of this general area. In 1837, when Warren Co, VA was separated from Frederick Co, VA, this land was removed from Shenandoah Co and included in Warren Co, VA. Co., VA 1795, Shenandoah Co, VA Personal Property Tax List. 25 1796, Shenandoah Co, VA Personal Property Tax List. 1796, Rebecca Good,( the genealogist abstracting the records in 1979) also found a deed from Abner Conner and Anne, his wife, to Charles Baggerly***, dated 22 Sep 1796, for a 100 acre tract of land lying on the manour line on Broad Run and drains of Gooney, corner to John Russell, corner to John Cooksey. Although no derivation was given, this was evidently the tract which Conner had from David Russell. (DB K, p.355, dated 27 Sep 1796, recorded 11 Oct 1796) no witnesses. 1799, Grainger Co, TN, An Abner Conner on Tax List. 1803, Jefferson Co, TN.. recorded as located there. 1807, Indiana Territory Census, Dearborn Co. [Includes these counties now: Franklin, Union, Fayette & Dearborn]. 1810, Abner & John b. bef 1810 in Connersville, IN. Connersville is now Fayette Co, which formed in 1819; but in 1810 was Franklin Co, IN. 1820, Federal Co, IN. Census, Posey Township for Abner Conner: 1 Male 45 + (Abner Conner SR.) 1 Male 10-16 (Abner Conner Jr.) 1 Female 16-26 (Eleanor Conner?) 1 Female 45+ (Ann Russell Conner) 1821, Abner Conner Sr. family, including Abner Jr, move to Shelby Co, according to Abner Jr's obituary.
