  �sup� This Indenture made this Sixth Day of April in th e year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and forty, Wi tnesseth, That Hugh Overmier, George Kemp and John Ickes, T rustees of the Township of Jackson in the County of Sandusk y and State of Ohio, have and by these Presents Do put, pla ce and bind David Basehare, an orphan Destitute Boy, aged f our years on the Twelfth Day of May last, as an apprentic e to David Miller of the Township of Jackson, County and St ate aforesaid, to learn the art trade mystery or occupatio n of farming and with him the Said David Miller, as an appr entice to Dwell and Serve from the Day of the Date hereof u ntill the Seventh Day of May in the year of our Lord one Th ousand Eight Hundred and fifty six, at which time the Sai d David Basehare will be twenty one years of age, if he s o long lives, During all which term the Said apprentice, hi s Said Master Shall well and faithfully Serve in all Such L awful business as Shall be Required of him, by his Said mas ter according to the best of his abilities, and honestly an d obediently behave himself towards his Said Master and fam ily-- and the Said David Miller on his part Doth Covenant a nd agree to with the Said Trustees and their Successors i n office Respectively, To Teach and instruct the Said Davi d Basehare, or Cause him to be instructed, in the art trad e mystery or occupation of a farmer, after best way and ma nner he can and that he will provide for The Said David Bas ehare, Boarding, Clothing, Washing and lodging, and other N ecessaries proper and Suitable for Such an apprentice in Si ckness and in Health and also the Necessary Medical aid i n case of Sickness, During The Term of his apprenticeship , and also that he will Cause The Said David Basehare To b e Taught To Read and write, and so much arithmetic as wil l include the Single Rule of Three and at the Expiration o f the Said Term of apprenticeship, To furnish him The Sai d David Basehare with a New Bible and least Two Suits of Co mmon Wearing apparel one thereof to be new, and fifty fiv e Dollars in money.
