Note: Charles Grover Rannells is the son of David Watson Rannells Jr. and Ella Jane Cooley.
1886 - Birth Record - Allen County, Kansas - no official record, but personal knowledge that this male (my Grandfather) was born in Kansas due information supplied by my mother, Charles's daughter Kathryn.
1900 Census - San Diego, CA - lists David W. Rannells age 44 yrs, born in Missouri living with Ella Jane age 43 yrs with the following children: Nathan age 18 yrs, Katie age 16 yrs, Charles age 14 yrs, William age 10 yrs, David Watson Jr. age 7 yrs, John Stone age 4 yrs. Also living with this family is Frederick L. Cooley, Ella Jane's father age 77 yrs. old.
1903 San Diego, Calif. Directory lists a Charles living in San Diego in Pacific Beach.

1913 - St. Louis, Missouri - Marriage Record for Charles G. Rannells and Myrtle Adele Ayres Creveling dated June 4, 1913 - was found on microfilm #528-165 dates 1908-1913 Female A-Z marriages. This writer has a copy of record.
1920 Census - La Jolla, San Diego Co., Calif. - lists a Charles G. Rannells age 33 yrs old born in Kansas, living with his wife, Myrtle age 30 yrs born in Missouri, and the following children: Benjamin W. age 7 yrs brn in Missouri, Virginia K. (this writers mother), age 4 yrs brn in La Jolla, Calif., Bernice M. age 6 months brn in La Jolla, Calif. E.D. 247, sheet 4, line 80.
1942 - La Jolla newspaper article: states, Charles Rannells age 56 of 7453 High Ave., La Jolla, CA, who had been a residence of San Diego for more than 50 yrs, died in a La Jolla Hospital of heart failure following pneumonia. Services will be conducted at St. James by the Sea - Episcopal Church, La Jolla, Ca where Mr. Rannells was a vestryman. The Rev. Donald Glazebrook will officiate.
Born in Humbolt, Kansas, Mr. Rannells moved with his parents to San Diego when he was 2 yrs old. For the last 30 yrs he was a railway express agent in La Jolla. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Rannells, daughters, Ms. Bernice Rannells, Mrs. Kathryn Andrews (mother) and Mrs. Robert T. Hull, a son, Warren Creveling Rannells, three brothers, Nathan L., Will and David W. Rannells all of La Jolla. A grandson, Peter H. Andrews, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Wetzell, of San Diego.
