Gomie was the "best" Grandmother and all of the grandchildren called her "Gomie". She was a great cook and her garden was always full of flowers and vegetables. I (MVM) used to help her plant her posies every spring.
"Gomie" was very active with her children and her grandchilden. The memory I have of her is that she would prepare soup and crackers for the grandchildren whenever we visited. Sitting at her oak dining room table (which this writer now has in her dining room) and eating soup and crackers with butter and talking with "Gomie" are fond memories.
Myrtle "Gomie" was from a very distinguished family from St. Louis, Missouri, the Ayres/Ayers. John Daggett Ayres/Ayers was her father.
1962 - Death Record - La Jolla, Calif. Aug. 30, 1962 copy of certificate of Death states that Myrtle Ayres Frisbee died on Aug. 30, 1962 from intestinal cancer.
