Christopher Hussey was born July 2, 1750, in Warrington Twp., York Co., PA, the eldest son of Christopher and Ann [Garretson] Hussey. His date of birth is reported by other sources as February 2, 1756, also in Warrington. The family moved to Cane Creek, Orange Co. (now Alamance Co.), NC, where he met and married Mary Ann Mickle. They were living in Blount County, TN, prior to 1794, when son Christopher, Jr., their fifth child, was born. Christopher, Sr. was on the tax list of Blount Co. in 1800 and 1801. He was in the Militia: in 1800, Capt. Caldwell's Co., and in 1801, Capt. James Allison's Co.
The family moved to Caesar Township, Greene Co., OH, about 1805. Part of the family came later. He bought 2700 acres of land at $1 per acre in Silver Creek Township, Greene Co., OH, where they built a log house, circular in form, that stood as one of the landmarks of the region.
He died in June, 1812, and is buried in the Hussey cemetery, north of Bowersville, Greene Co., OH.
