The Committee on Examination made a report which was concurred in, the recommendations adopted, and is as follows:
Your Standing Committee on Examination of your candidates and licentiates on the sciences and theology report we met (except the Rev. T.S. Buchanan), and the Rev. E.O. Kerr being present was invited to take part in the examination of the class. There were present Licentiate S.B. Zaricor and Candidates B.L. Holder, O.L. Stockton and J.D. Prichard. Brother Zaricor asked to be excused on examination of sciences as he had given little or no study in that direction, owing to sickness in his family and pressing pulpit demands, etc., promising to give his close attention to the same in the future. Brothers Holder, Stockton and Prichard stood only a poor examination on English grammar, geography and natural philosophy. We also examined the class on theology, in which Brother Zaricor took part, he not being present at the commencement of the same. We found that they had some correct ideas of the same, and upon some points not so clear, to-wit: on the doctrine of regeneration and the resurrection of the dead. Brother Zaricor is not sound as understood and taught by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. His views are hetrodox on regeneration and the resurrection, and the delegates from the congregations where he has been preaching inform us that he has been circulating Sweedenbergian literature in said congregations and commending the same to their faith.
We recommend that Presbytery take his case in hand and dispose of it as in the judgment of this body may seem proper.
We recommend that Brothers Holder, Stockton and Prichard be required to prepare for examination on same studies as above, and that their discourses on texts previously assigned them be sustained as parts of trial, and other texts assigned them upon which to prepare discourses to be read at the next meeting of the Presbytery, to-wit: B.L. Holder on John, v, 40; J.D. Prichard, Rom. v, I; O.L. Stockton, John, xiv, 6, first clause. Respectfully, E.D. Farris, T.S. Buchanan, S.H. Braly, W.C. Pharr [pages 17-18]

The Committee on Examination made a report, which was concurred in, the recommendations adopted, and is as follows, viz:
Your Committee on Examination report we met at the time appointed. There were present of the class C.E. Barlow, R.B. Garrison, C.B. Pace, O.L. Stockton and R.G. Stockton. We examined them on English grammar, geography, natural philosophy, astronomy, ecclesiastical history, church government and theology, and find they have made commendable progress in most of these branches. The discourses which were referred to us have been examined, and we recommend that they be sustained as parts of trial, and that other texts be assigned them, upon which to write discourses to be read at the next meeting of Presbytery.
Your committee wish especially to commend Bro. R.G. Stockton for the visible taste and manifest care exercised in the preparation of his discourse.
Bro. C.L. Dickey is in school at the university, and Bro. H.W. Hinrichs has not reported.
Bro. John T. Alexander is in school at Bethel College. Bros. H.W. Jewell and J.A. Orr are also in school. Bro. J.E. Wright is not able to be here, owing to sickness in his family.
Your committee would urge the importance of all our young men pressing their studies, and we cannot emphasize too much the necessity of a faithful and careful study of the science of the English language, and we especially insist upon their continued study of the English grammar.
Bros. O.L. Stockton and B.L. Holder having passed the usual parts of trial, your committee are satisfied as to their qualification and competency to teach, and therefore recommend that the Presbytery proceed to set these two brethren apart to the whole work of the ministry, and that the ordination service take place at 7 o'clock this evening; that the Rev. S.H. Braly preach the ordination sermon and that the Rev. W.G. Leonard preside and give the charge
The Rev. T. Ashburn, having removed from our midst, leaves a vacancy in your Committee on Literature and Theology, therefore the Moderator, the Rev. E.O. Kerr, appointed the Rev. D.T. Waynick to take his place at this meeting. We recommend that you make Rev. Waynick a permanent member of the committee. S.H. BRALY, E.O. KERR. [Pages 6-7]
The Presbytery proceeded to the ordination of Bros. B.L. Holder and O.L. Stockton. The Rev. S.H. Braly preached the ordination sermon, and the Rev. W.J. Darby presided and gave the charge. [March 9, 1895, page 9]

The Special Committee which was appointed to consider Rev. O.L. Stockton's request for a letter made the following report which was concurred in and the recommendation adopted:
Your Committee to whom was referred the request of Rev. O.L. Stockton for a letter of dismission and recommendation would respectfully report as follows:
We are very anxious that neither this Presbytery nor Brother Stockton be injured, and have therefore sought to be very careful and deliberate in considering this matter. We find, from what we believe to be creditable testimony, that Brother Stockton, without waiting for a letter from this Presbytery, has identified himself with another denomination, and thereby surrendered and terminated his relationship to this Presbytery, and that, by his own act.
We recommend therefore that since Brother Stockton no longer bears any relationship to this Presbytery, his name be dropped from the roll of the Presbytery.
